Father’s Day Football Toss

If you’ve never attended a Home Depot Workshop, there are three types of Workshops—Do-it-Yourself (DIY), Do-it-Herself (DIH), and Kids—geared toward all ages and experience levels. The workshops are held at every store, and offer a variety of topics ranging from home repair to tool instruction, are even building home decor projects!! Not to mention, they’re FREE, and a great place to work on your skills and meet new friends who love to DIY!

Okay so without further ado, here’s how I customized my Father’s Day Football Toss:

I first cut and assembled the 1 x 4 legs—adding a few extra pieces to create the goal posts. Once the legs were assembled, I printed out my free template (see my tutorial to download!) and projected it onto the plywood using the flashlight on my phone. From there, I just cut the football shape with a jigsaw, and then attached it to the legs. The hole in the football is the larger of the two holes on the original design, and the goal posts are spaced smaller to substitute for the smaller hole in the original plans. What do you think?
