Build Basic Reader Project - DIY Four-in-a-Row Yard Game by Missy W. - www.build-basic.com

Missy W. from Florida knocked it out of the park when she used our DIY Four-in-a-Row Yard Game building plans to create hours of fun at a family party. Missy writes;

“This was my first shot at cutting so many holes. I love using my Ryobi Drill and purchased a few of the Milwaukee Hole Dozer’s and dove right into the hole cutting!  After my first 3, I had caught on to the process.”

Brilliant! Missy finished the frame with Minwax’s stain in Jacobean, topped with a coat of Minwax Finishing Paste. As for the discs, Missy writes;

“The color theme of the party was gray/white so it was easy to decide the colors for the discs.  I chose to use chalk paint to paint the disc, sanded them down after the paint dried and then added an antique wax to finish the discs.  Living in Florida, I knew I would need to use a finish that would withstand the humidity, and the process I chose has worked very well so far!”

And for the party—Missy writes;

“This game was such a huge hit with everyone and I couldn’t be happier, or prouder, of my accomplishment of learning the new techniques.”

 Thank you for sharing your build Missy! I’m so glad the game is now a part of your family, and something you can enjoy at gatherings for years to come!!
